| Spirited Art Competition A Note from the judges |
| The three judges, Rod Bax, Amanda Chambers and Elizabeth Wedge represent a range of denominational backgrounds and are practicing artists and art teachers. They each participated in the recent conference on Teaching Philosophy and Religion through Art with Dr Peter Vardy and Revd John Kirk and they are eager to open frontiers between religion and the expressive arts. The judges were impressed with the overall standard and quality of the arkwork submitted and were pleased to see a wide range of ideas and creative interpretations in response to the four different categories. It was good to see all states represented including Education Department Schools. The depth of the statements of intent were considered with many conveying meaningful personal reflections. We look forward to building on the success of this years competition with an increasing number of schools entering next year. |
