Advertised Positions – DAN EO


The Dialogue Australasia Network (DAN) is a non-denominational, not for profit network of schools and educational bodies committed to promoting and nurturing critical & creative Philosophy and Religious Education (RE) in Australasia.

We are looking for a new part-time Executive Officer (EO)  to conduct the affairs of the network, and to capitalise on the reputation DAN has for providing excellent Professional Development for teachers.

Excellent communication, organisational skills and the ability to work independently are essential.  You will ideally have tertiary qualifications in RE and Philosophy and/or teaching experience in these fields.  A level of administrative and financial literacy is also required to successfully execute this role.

The new EO could be based anywhere in Australia, although proximity to a capital city is preferable.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Organising quality Professional Development opportunities and resources for teachers
  • Communications with members via Dialogue Australasia Journal, newsletters and website
  • Managing the finances of the network
  • Engaging with educational organisations and partners to influence the quality of teacher training and professional development

If you have an understanding of social media, Microsoft Office Excel, and e-mail, a methodical approach and you want experience of an international marketing campaign in the education and independent film sectors, please get in touch.

You will be expected to manage our 2017 international Marketing Strategy by organising and developing our existing Excel database, building an effective social media profile and networking with educational institutions in Asia, UK and Australasia

You should be flexible about your working arrangements in the understanding you are providing your time for free and to gain experience and may have other work or study commitments. You will be able to work remotely as you have internet access and your own computer. We offer you a challenging and useful experience that will help you develop the skills you are seeking and we will write you a glowing reference in the event that your work is of a high quality.

The role will be for six months and will require approximately 3-4 hours work per week.
